  3. If this is a shareware version, install the program by typing cdplayer on the
  4. commandline or from the file run in Windows program manager.
  5.  
  6. THIS PROGRAM REQUIRES WINDOWS 3.1 OR GREATER!!!!!!!!

  10. I have spent a great deal of time working on this program so I hope you like
  11. it.  Now that the program is loaded, I will assume things are good.
  12.  
  13. If you decided NOT to install the driver, the player will work IF you have
  14. previously installed a cd rom driver for Windows.  If you experience problems
  15. with your current driver, here's how you can use mine:
  16.  
  17. First, open system.ini in notepad or you favorite text editor.
  18. Second, look for [mci].
  19. Third, look for CDAudio= line.
  20. Forth, add this to the CDAudio line:
  21.  
  22.     CDAudio=mcicda.drv
  23.  
  24. It should look exactly like the above line.
  25.  
  26. The buttons are fairly self explanatory.  If you minimize the program
  27. the track, minutes and seconds are displayed.  On-line help, repeat,
  28. eject and retrack are disabled in the shareware version.  Registration gives
  29. you these and the latest release.  You will also be notified of future
  30. upgrades; not to mention helping me through college!

  32. You may experience problems with screen savers with passwords. Sometimes
  33. they will not allow the player to update the settings info.  IF YOU 
  34. access the cd rom player while it is playing (eg: trying to access it as a
  35. drive or trying to open a file) the player will stop playing an reset itself.
  36. There is nothing I can do about this problem.  Some program cause this to 
  37. happen (eg: Word for Windows 1.0, 2.0, Norton Desktop for Window 1.0, 2.0 
  38. for example).  If the player stops playing, just press play and it will
  39. restart.

  41. There are some remnants from the install program, usually in the TEMP 
  42. directory. They begin with ~cln.... . Just delete these files!

  65. NOTE:   Smartdrive may cause a CRC error.  To correct this problem, type the
  66. following:

  68.     smartdrv c-
  69. c stands for the drive letter you wish to install to. The - sign says disable
  70. the write/read.  This will allow the installation program to work properly.

  72. To re-enable smartdrive, type smartdrv c+.
